Day 1 – Wednesday 19 September 2018

Travel by coach from Warwick to Toowoomba

This morning we join our coach captain and tour leader and travel via the Pacific Hwy to our morning tea break at Palm Beach. We’ll arrive in Toowoomba in time for a picnic lunch at Picnic Point Parklands andsee the amazing view from the lookout. This afternoon we’ll have a local guide on board to show us the sights of the Garden City.On arrival at our accommodation we’ll have time to relax before our first group dinner. Day 2 – Thursday 20 September 2018

Toowoomba Sightseeing

After brekky, today we head north to the quaint Hamlet of Highfields where you will have time to wander the unique shops. The Chocolate Cottage offers chocolates made on the premises; The Quilters Angel provides all your quilting haberdashery; Herbal Harmonies Village Green Gift Shoppe lures shoppers with aromas of herbal oils and soaps as well as stunning silk scarves and a luxurious range of hats and gloves. Footwear and other items can be located at McCartney & Creed. Across the road Abbie Lane Arts & Crafts Village is a unique shopping experience. With an old church as a beautiful landmark, it is set off by the old-style buildings around it and sitting amongst cottage gardens adds charm and ambience. We’ll also visit Black Forest Hill, Australia’s largest collection of German Grandfather and Cuckoo clocks. Enjoy a tasty lunch before we visit one of the most peaceful and beautiful parks in Toowoomba, the Ju Raku En Japanese Garden. Located at the university of Southern Downs, Ju Raku En is roughly translated means ‘to enjoy peace and longevity in a public place’. Features of the garden includes: mountain stream and waterfall; Dry Garden; central lake; Azalea Hill;3 kilometres of paths; and 230 species of Japanese and Australian native trees and plants.

 

Days 3 – Friday 21 September 2018

A day at The Ergon Energy Flower Food & Wine Festival

Today spend your time at the Ergon Energy Food & Wine Festival. Here, you can sample the world-famous produce of Southern Queensland Country, all in one place. Treat yourself to incredible flavours, produce and wine fresh from the bountiful pastures, orchards and wine vineyards of the region. Plus, some of the nation’s favourite gardening presenters, and celebrity chefs. Our Simes Bros Coach will pick-up at various times throughout the day to return you to your accommodation.

 

Day 4 – Saturday 22 September 2018

 

Floral Displays and garden tours

After breakfast, we’ll take a drive to view some of the beautiful prize-winning private gardens as well as the magnificent grounds of Laurel Bank Park. We’ll then have some time to explore the displays around the CBD area including the stunning floral display at St Luke’s Anglican Church. Purchase lunch before meeting your tour leader and taking your reserved seating for the Grand Floral Parade as hundreds of flowery floats wind their way through the heart of the city.

 

Day 5 – Sunday 23 September 2018

Travel by coach home

Today we make our way home along the Mount Lindsay Hwy through Boonah and Rathdowney to our home destinations. We can reminisce about all the beautiful gardens and floral displays we have been lucky to view over the last few days.
