Start your five day trip with a visit to the heritage listed Stannum House with its beautiful old world charm. On to Tenterfield, Glencoe then Tamworth in time to browse the shops before dinner. Visit Wallabadah and the First and Second Fleet memorial Garden, the only one of its kind in Australia then on to Singleton to visit the Australian Army and Infantry Museum and on to Pokolbin for a guided wine tasting at Drayton’s Family Wines. Visit the Hunter Valley Gardens Village and a delicious Christmas dinner and the Christmas Lights Spectacular. Enjoy lunch on the verandah at Hillview Herb Farm on Bucketts Way overlooking the majestic Mograni Range. We will have time to learn more about Herbs with an Information Session and Herb Garden Tour.
Forster Town Centre then board our cruise boat for a seven hour cruise which includes a cruise through Wallis Lake to Coolongolook, lunch on board then transfer to Great Lakes Winery for a guided tasting, wine talk before returning to your motel for the evening. Ricardoes Tomatoes for a delicious morning tea, lunch at the Seabreeze Hotel in picturesque South West Rocks and back to Lismore, stopping at the Big Banana Ice Creamery for a naughty treat (own cost).
Day 1 Wednesday 8 November
With much excitement, we join our friends and depart Lismore early for our five days away.
Our first stop is for a cuppa and tour at the heritage listed Stannum House with its beautiful old world charm. We depart Tenterfield and travel southwards on the New England Highway, stopping at Glencoe for a delicious picnic lunch. We’ll arrive in Tamworth in time to browse the shops before booking in to our home for the night.
Join our fellow travellers for a pre-dinner drink followed by dinner in the motel restaurant.

Day 2 Thursday 9 November
After a hearty breakfast, we depart Tamworth for the short drive to Wallabadah to view the First and Second Fleet memorial Garden, the only one of its kind in Australia. From here, we travel to Singleton to visit the Australian Army and Infantry Museum which has a collection ranging from Australia’s pre federation state colonial armies and their first deployments overseas in the nineteenth century through to today’s twenty first century diggers. We’ll enjoy a light lunch here then travel to Pokolbin for a guided wine tasting at Drayton’s Family Wines. After this, we’ll have a short time to browse the shops in the Hunter Valley Gardens Village.
We’ll book in to our accommodation with time to freshen up, then depart for the highlight of our day, Christmas dinner and the Christmas Lights Spectacular-Bring in the festive season with the annual Christmas Lights Spectacular: a magical tradition with millions of lights on display at the Hunter Valley Gardens.

Day 3 Friday 10 November
Pokolbin-Wine Country Drive-Morpeth-Gloucester-Forster
This morning after a drive around the wine country, we head to the historic town of Morpeth, a premier boutique shopping and dining precinct nestled on the Hunter River. A visit to Morpeth is a journey through narrow laneways, sandstone curb sides and into heritage buildings where you’ll discover unique shopping, artisan treasures and delightful treats.
Our next stop will be the Hillview Herb Farm on Bucketts Way where we will have lunch on the verandah overlooking the majestic Bucketts Mountains and Mograni Range. We will have time to learn more about Herbs with an Information Session and Herb Garden Tour. A range of products will be for sale, including cooking oils, vinegars, massage oils, herb honey, herbal teas and culinary blends and mini herb gardens. From here, we’ll travel to Forster via the picturesque Lakes Way.
Day 4 Saturday 11 November
Wallis Lake Cruise
Enjoy a tasty breakfast, then some free time to explore Forster Town Centre or, if you prefer, take a dip in the ocean baths or the patrolled main beach. Then board our cruise boat for a seven hour cruise which includes a cruise through Wallis Lake to Coolongolook, lunch on board (roast beef, turkey breast, salad, damper), transfers to Great Lakes Winery for a guided tasting, wine talk, cheese & biscuits, and return cruise with tea & coffee, and delicious apple pie with cream for dessert.
Return to your motel for a rest, then meet for a drink in the bar and a scrumptious dinner.
Day 5 Sunday 12 November
Today we enjoy breakfast then load the coach for the journey home. Our first stop will be Ricardoes Tomatoes for a delicious morning tea and tour of the hydroponically grown tomato and strawberry greenhouses. Our lunch today will be at the Seabreeze Hotel in picturesque South West Rocks. To break the journey home, we’ll stop at the Big Banana Ice Creamery for a naughty treat (own cost).
We will arrive back in Lismore in the early evening after a fun-filled five days away.
